Has anyone in Canada ever sold their Airbnb property? I recently read a Tax Court Judgement  case in Ottawa where the seller was assessed  $77,079.64 HST on the full selling price of their Airbnb.  As the Airbnb owner's former Airbnb was considered a business asset on  disposition.

Hello and thank you so much @Alex.

Unfortunately, I have not had a response.

Which is strikingly strange.

We're all at risk with this ruling.

Do you think maybe that having to add hst onto the full your selling price of your Airbnb could affect the buyers decision and therefore what you can sell it for.

Alternatively, since noboby seems to notice this, the seller would be levied this should the buyer be unwilling to pay it.

And someone wil have to pay.
