I've recently submitted a request to a guest to replace a damaged carpet which they completely admitted to causing as their daughter was experimenting. 

Crazy that these experiments happen in an air bnb

Air bnb have offered me £35 for a £300 carpet. I've tried escalating but they think £35 is reasonable. 

I've started my online small claims process but it's asking for contact details for the letters etc. Does anyone have them?

But in your situation it's probably easier and quicker to claim on your own home insurance for short term lets.

Airbnb makes it clear in their guarantee that they allow of depreciation. How old is your carpet?  They could argue a lesser amount is equitable.

It was 6 weeks old hence why I claimed. Thanks for the info

@Rebecca2027 I would hold off on court action for a day or seven. You need to give Airbnb a chance to do the right thing first or the court will not allow your claim.
