Soliciting a host to sell their property

Tried searching the forums (and all of the site) before asking my rather unusual question.  I am looking to buy a condo in Oxford, MS in a specific condo development - Rowandale.  This would be a property for my children to live in while attending Ole Miss.  Currently, this neighborhood has over 75 active Airbnb properties.  Many are new to the platform, have few reviews, and don't seem to be regularly booked.  How appropriate is it to message these hosts asking if they are interested in selling their property to me?  In the real estate world, this is known as "driving for dollars" - when you basically go drive around and just cold-call door to door asking homeowners if they are interested in selling.  I don't mind being rejected, or simply ignored - I expect some of that.  But I might also find a willing seller.  However, I do have a 5-star Airbnb rating as a guest, and I don't want to jeopardize that because I have a couple of bookings in 2024 I've already paid for and don't want to lose.  I appreciate any hosts that could provide some feedback or advice on this matter.  Thank you.

It wouldn't be appropriate for you to approach through the platform which is for guests making inquiries through the platform. You would be better registering with local estate agents who can tell you what property is available locally.

Doing so, could lead to you being kicked off the platform .
