Spam or not spam?

Hello, I would like to know if Airbnb is connected with the area code 205, I'm new here and most of the messages i have received from potential clients are from area code 205 Alabama. As of right now i assume they are spam, Right or wrong?  Looking for advice of protocol when receiving inquiry on our property. I have been told a lot of calls coming from Alabama maybe  smishing.

Yes Brian. That is telling you that you have an air bnb message . I get those text messages from the same number daily.

We've been doing this for 6 years and that number only recently started showing up associated with something called caddis cabin which is apparently in Arkansas. The 205 number has never shown up before either. I just got off the phone with Airbnb customer service and they told me that this is not Airbnb. So I still have no answer to this and Airbnb can only tell me that it is not them. Definitely weird especially when the number now has in the profile pic something directly copied from the listing for caddis cabin. More than anything it looks like airbnb's just been hacked in some way. I even tried changing my telephone number listed in my account so that my text message notifications from Airbnb would go to a totally different number and it still shows up as the 205 number associated with Caddis cabin. So at the moment I have zero confidence that my account is secure on Airbnb. And it's definitely not on my end because that number is not even in my contacts and I never added them to anything. They've never stated our property and I have never received a message within the Airbnb app that shows that profile pic or that phone number.

I'm having the exact same issue and it just started like maybe a couple of months ago. Plus the name Caddis Cabin has suddenly appeared. I regularly received notifications to my phone number from Airbnb, it's under your account settings if you want them to do that, anytime I've had a new reservation or any other message from Airbnb. I have never in the last 6 years that we've been doing this have I received a notification with this 205 number on it and certainly not with the name Caddis Cabin.  When I Google the name it shows up as an Airbnb rental:

I just got off the phone with Airbnb because I've been trying to figure out who this caddis cabin person is and why they're associated with my account. However, according to Airbnb customer service they have no clue, do not recognize the number at all, and have no idea why my notifications are coming to my phone number and this other 205 number also showing up. They said they would research it and get back to me. Hopefully they will but my experience tells me that any company that says they're going to research it and get back to you almost never do.

The number is to be 205-851-4558. And for the last 6 years there has never been a phone number on my notifications, it just says it's from airbnb, now suddenly there is this odd phone number as well as this weird name Caddis Cabin, which if you follow the link will show as a property available to rent through Airbnb. So basically still no answers to this issue at all even after calling and speaking with Airbnb customer service directly. They also seem to have a really hard time understanding that this was not on my end it is not through my phone number, I even tried using an alternate number and still got the same thing. They tried to tell me that I must have added this person to the chat when I 100% absolutely did not. I typically use a Google voice number says to not give out my personal number, but I changed the number in my account to my personal number and this weird 205 number still shows up. That right there should be enough to tell them this is not me adding anybody to the chat. Nor is the number associated with my account at all. And if this is a number associated with Airbnb you would think that Airbnb customer service would know that. But that also still does not explain why the name Caddis Cabin suddenly started showing up instead of it just simply saying Airbnb.
