Have you contacted your local government to learn more about the regulations in your area?
I will also tag another Texas Superhost who might have some advice on finding this information - @Iolanda54
Yes I am in Galveston County, Texas, when I first began to ensure i was following all rules and regulations. I wanted to be in compliance from the get go. I called the local office and they directed me to the city, county website. Keep Informed, knowledge is power.

Most all platforms, i.e. airbnb are able to remove the tax's for me and send directly to the city or county. If you have your own website, you have to decide to send in tax you collect every 3 months to the county and city. Every city or county rate can be different.
Were you able to get in touch with the local office @Wendy1657? We'd love to hear about your experience in finding the info you were looking for.
