Taxes in Italy

As of 2023 Airbnb will report my income to Italian tax authorities. My question is this: Does Airbnb report the "gross income" which includes the Airbnb commission or the net income that I receive on my bank account and excludes the Airbnb commission?

Thank you for clarifying

@Silvia211 They definitely report the gross income. What is not clear is how they define gross income. Is it the income including guest fees or is it just the income including host fees. I believe it should be the latter in the UK (happy to be corrected) but I think it is the former in the USA. Whether it varies by country depending on the tax regime is unknown to me.

Thanks for your reply. If Airbnb reports my gross income then there will a discrepancy between what I report to tax authorities (the payout I receive from Airbnb on my bank account) and what Airbnb reports (my payout, plus the Airbnb commission, plus cleaning costs) which could raise some red flags...

@Silvia211 have you talked to an accountant? In most countries you should report the gross income and then the things like Airbnb fees goes into a cost bucket (often along with heating, cleaning  etc, sometimes separately) and you are then taxed on the net amount. I suspect you are not filling in your tax return correctly.

Hi @Silvia211  I have the same question in my mind. I plan to and think that it would be correct to take into account the amount that we've been paid.no? plus there is some other stuff I would like to ask you do sending you private text aqs well.
