They don't care about guest anymore then host

I got fraudulent rental from a host that had no legal right to rent the unit he had been court ordered out but rented it to me took my money only for me to be kick out same day now iv been on the streets of Edmonton because iv been waiting on my refund seeing that I had to spend my reserve money to rent a different unit I'm a 5start guest and I get treated like I don't have a right to be mad or want this fixed as far as I'm concerned they should have put me in a unit at their cost seeing that they let a theif and fraudster rent on their platform this was on 28 it's now 31 still getting jerked around on the street in a city I don't know

I’m really sorry you’re going through this. Contact Airbnb Support again. Airbnb has a “Guest Refund Policy” and Extenuating Circumstances protections.

Iv been on the phone and messages for 4 days they keep dragging it on I'm just going to contact the onbundmen

I'm so sorry you're going through this!  While I'm a host in San Antonio, Texas, I remember reading that when we were first required to obtain short term rental permits, Airbnb said if we didn't, they wouldn't let us host our listings on their site.  This was a complete lie and I feel your pain.  I have another host in my neighborhood who doesn't have his short term rental permit, nor does he pay his STR taxes,--and, for that matter, he doesn't pay property taxes on the homes he is renting out.  Translation:  he can't go on forever without paying property taxes, so eventually, the question will be, is he renting out HIS property or property that someone else owns?

 

At the end of the day, Airbnb cares about making money.  They don't really care about the host or guest.  I think you're on the right track to contact any legal entity you can, or the news.  Airbnb doesn't like exposure that's negative.

Well it's day 6 5 days lost wages still stuck here still no help yep great outstanding customer service get better service from a camel butt
