WIFI Usage

Hi everyone,

I’m fairly new to the community and have a property in Aburi. I have a question about providing Wi-Fi for guests.

Do most hosts offer unlimited Wi-Fi, or do you set a daily data limit? If you use a data cap, what daily limit have you found works well for guests?

I’d appreciate any advice or recommendations. Thanks in advance!

We provide unlimited Wi-Fi because our internet plan with our provider is already unlimited. For us, there’s no real benefit to restricting our guests’ usage. Reliable internet is something many travelers depend on for work, streaming, video calls, and staying connected with family, so we prefer to let them use it without worrying about data limits. It also helps create a better guest experience and eliminates unnecessary concerns about exceeding a data cap during their stay.

I forget to mention that the property is in Ghana, West Africa. Yes, here in the US internet is unlimited. Thanks

If you can offer unlimited Wi-Fi, I'd go for it. Most guests these days really want good internet, whether it's for social media, sharing photos, or staying reachable for work while they're away. It's become something people just expect, and it tends to come up in reviews.

One thing to keep in mind: guests who have unlimited internet at home usually have no clue how much data they actually use (me included!). So a limit that feels generous to you can be used up pretty fast by someone who streams a lot or works online, and they won't see it coming.

If unlimited isn't an option for you, a data cap can still work fine. The main thing is to be upfront about it. Put it clearly in your listing, in your house rules, and in your welcome message too. Guests don't really mind a limit if they knew about it beforehand. What they don't like is running into it halfway through their stay.
