Advice: Can host change price after accepting the reservation?

So, I haven't really used airbnb before so I'm not sure if this is normal/okay and I wanted to ask.

I made a booking for 3 nights and paid already, then a few days after booking the host sent a message saying "You paid to which account? We do not see your payment as yet." and later on in the day she sent another message saying "Also please take note of our rates. R950 is for one room sharing. You are looking for a 4 bedroom Unit, that takes 8 people. That Unit cost R2200 off peak and R2650 on peak per night. So i think you confusing that as well"

I am beyond mad right now. What is my recourse? If I cancel I will be charged a fee though it is not my fault that the listing was incorrect. i have been trying to engage her without any success as her phone lines are not being answered.

Your payment would go against your reservation which you and your host will see in your, or their reservations. You should be able to clearly see what you have booked and judge whether that is correct or not.

Your host will not receive payment until after you arrive, your payment is held at Airbnb until then, but you can see details of your account payments.

If you think you may have made a mistake or i.e. booked for one person instead of eight, then contact Airbnb and explain your problem.

What you booked, how much you paid and the terms of that booking are all held by Airbnb. They should be able to help you out.
