Just had an enquiry about my property for two adults in August. Asked lots of questions and then asked for a discount as they’re on a budget. Then said it would be couple, grandmother, small child and a puppy who is very well behaved! We don’t accept pets and there are three flights of stairs so it’s unsuitable for small children. She came back and said the child is 13 and they wouldn’t bring the puppy even though he’s part of the family. My instincts say decline but I’m new at this and any advice would be appreciated.
If it's an inquiry and not a request, you don't have to decline or accept - just write a response.
And your instinct is definitely on point. These people have already misrepresented their party size, lied about children and pets, and requested a discount (basically asking you to take a pay cut for a booking that would clearly be hard work). I hate to think what else they're hiding.
