We rented an apartment in Barcelona.
It had good reviews
Two computers and cash were robbed from the apartment. Value $3000
The landlord washed his hands of the affair
AirBnB paid us $1400.
We thought this was nice of them and left this positive comment in the review, which was otherwise negative
AirBnB said that we weren't allowed to publish this fact, that they had paid us.
So AirBnB deleted the entire review.
Now no one else can know about the security risk. This is convenient both for the landlord and for AirBnB, but it conflicts with their ethic of transparency, or at least the ethic of transparency that they represent.
