AirBnb Customer Service Failures

Hi

I had a same day booking earlier in the month. The guest messaged to say they were excited to come and I sent them all my directions and information on how to access the property. I then get a message to say the guests payment has failed but the date will be blocked for 24 hours. I waited in in the afternoon for them to arrive and turned the water and heaters on. At about 6pm I message to see if they are coming. The guests have never had the courtesy  to reply and a flaw in the airbnb process meant I missed out on a potential booking and important income! I feel quite let down but the airbnb process.

Are same day bookings a big part of your business, @Gemma1 ?  Apparently many hosts have posted that there is a higher probability of failure of payment due to the time it can take in some payment situations.  If you do not need to keep same day booking, you might consider requiring advance notice.
