I am a host from Turkey and am pretty new to AirBnb. Unfortunately the experience I want to share has seriously undermined my trust in AirBnb as a reli partner.
My reservation with strict cancellation policy was cancelled by AirBnb and the guest was 100% refunded without a request to refund the guest through the resolution center, instead of that I received a weird phone call at 11p.m, the person on the other side was speaking with unclear accent and just mentioned one of my reservations and a request to cancel. As I am familiar with the cancellation policy rules I
assumed that the cancellation should be done according to the procedure which involves Resolution Center. I was taken aback when 2 minutes later the reservation was cancelled without host refund.
I strongly believe that these action has violated the cancellation policy rules and well as my interests.
I assume that financial issues should be settled in written form exclusively otherwise it looks more like a scam business than a trustworthy platform.
I would really appreciate if any of thevhosts who have had similar experience would like to share it here as well as the way you managed
to settle the issue with AirBnb.
it seems Airbnb is doing this all the time. They are calling hosts at any hours and trying to persuade them to refund their guests.
Of course, this is a bad business practice and Airbnb should stick to cancelation policies.

Luckily I was able to settle the matter with AirBnb and got a refund but it was a tough one:-)
I am not going to accept any calls from AirBnb from now on and will settle all the matters in writing.

To protect myself from this kind of actions I am going not to accept any calls from AirBnb from now on and request to settle issues involving my financial interests in writing.
