Airbnb Invoice #876700275

Hi comunity, i would like to ask if this email is a scam 🙂

Airbnb Company <invoice@greece-airbnb.com>

Your request to establish a private viewing for the following property has been approved. We require the payment to be made through Payment by Invoice and you can make this deposit through Bank Transfer, you'll find the details below.

i got an email like this, can anyone let me know if airbnb is offering services like this?

I would like to rent a flat in Munich, and there is someone who wants to deposit money

Hello ,
First of all , i want to tell you that if you are ready to proceed with this transaction I will need to inform you the steps about how this service works .
You will have 2 days to inspect the apartment before your final decision to rent .
This is how they work :
1) I will make the delivery papers at Airbnb .

2) After I will make the papers they will require for your payment confirmation of the first month and the guarantee deposit(485 EUR + 800 EUR= 1285 EUR) to the company .Airbnb will send you a delivery notification to let you know they have the Keys and the papers in their custody .
Also Airbnb will give you further instructions about the money deposit .

3) After the payment is confirmed the delivery process will start and the agent from Airbnb will come at you with the keys, you will have 2 days inspection period before your final decision to rent .

4) If all is in order, you will instruct Airbnb to give me the money. Further rents will be sent directly to my bank account.

5) If you refuse to rent the apt , Airbnb will give you a full refund (1285 EUR) and you will give them back the keys and the contract.

If you are interested to rent the apartment please send me your information, so i can make the deal

Thanks

Thanks for any help.

Hello @Tomas4,

That is most definitely a scam.

Airbnb always warns people that they must pay using the Airbnb platform. Under no circumstances should payment be made by any other means.

Airbnb does not have agents who meet people.

This format email has been reported here before.

The correct payment process is that Airbnb takes the money from your credit card immediately when the host accepts your booking.

Airbnb then sends the payment to the host the day after you check in.

Steve.

Thanks Steve and Hilary

I have a question, I also received an email like this but I received another email from invoice@greece-airbnb.com as a confirmation, is this email real for this company or not ?

Is Airbnb offering service like this or not ?

@Rose179

Of course it is a scam.
