Application Update

Very dissapointed with the latest update as it has removed key functionality.

 

Specifically:

1) The system no longer calculates the total cost when you send a special offer

2) The system does not display the total cost that the customer will pay which makes it very hard to discuss the price with the potential guest when they ask questions

3) The notes are not displayed on the calendar, so booking specific notes are not as easilly available to the host

4) The unit's calendar is not displayed on the guests enquiry any more, meaning it's more difficult to see how the guests dates fit in to your other bookings

 

I feel the update has been done with little or no consultation with real host users as these are all key areas of functionality that a host needs that have been removed by the developers who don't actually use the sofware in real life.

 

Please give us back this functionality Airbnb!!!

I agree.  It took 3 attempts for me (2 withdrawals) to send a simple special offer (slight discount for 2 nights).  I would like to send a special offer out now to another potential guest but it's way too much trouble to figure out an amount that I would like to offer and I def don't want to send/withdraw/send/withdraw/send  to eventually get to a total amount that I am intending.  I never heard from that potential guest again.(?!?)   Of course, I could always go to the calendar and spend 1/2hr-1 hr. changing around rates for a number of days to find the details I need; then reset calendar rates back to initial rates;  and go back to send the offer.  Not going to happen.  The new format for the special offer without ability to see calculated details, for the guest and host, is discouraging.

I agree with everything that you guys are saying about the special offer. In addition to the "new features" listed above, there is no longer a special offer button on a current guest. You must send them the link to the listing and ask them to click on it, find "contact host" on web page and send a new request. Many of my guests would give up with that kind of user interface.
