I had a guest last year who almost stayed nearly a month at my place. I even gave him a positive review.During his last week of stay my local driver had some bad experience with him that he was so rude and very demanding and even tells my driver that he will post him on social media and write all the negative things about my driver. So,I talked to the guest that he is not suppose to do that blah..blah.. blah.. We became a FB friends now its 2019.He contacted via facebook telling me all the stories that his broke he got deported but his been travelling and posting about his shopping. During that time that he ask me if he could stay for free at the moment my apartment was full and I do have some future bookings so I said NO. Aside from the fact that my apartment is full I am not very comfortable having him as a guest because of the previous experience.
So, he sent me some negative messages and what annoys me is when he talk about my religion my faith and my beliefs and I am fake. For my own sanity I didnt response to all his message at all unfriended him and block him on FB. However, he was able to reach me via Airbnb platform. He threatens me that he will post our converstation in social media and will put negative information about me. For how many years of hosting I never had such issues with my previous guest. I love hosting and I love what Im doing with this incident it made me think twice if I still continue.
My question as a HOST I have the right to decline someone that I felt uncomfortable / unsafe, right?
he is an idiot. Contact Airbnb, show them his messages and maybe they will unlist him from Airbnb. Ask Airbnb to block him so he can't contact you via Airbnb or book your place any more. I think they can do that.
@Branka-and-Silvia0 Thank you...
Your message comforts me, because I dont want to stop hosting specially now that I made a really good friends with my previous guest.Just because this guest... (-_-) it made me think twice.
He sounds like a sociopath to me, avoid him like the plaque, block him on facebook and report him to Airbnb, although I have my doubts Airbnb willl do anything.
@Cormac0 thats what the other guest told me when I hosted him last year. Thanks for the advice.
