Bed bugs

We have discovered bed bugs in one of my listings. I would love to hear from other hosts who have experienced this. I guess we have to hire an exterminator, although we have bombed the house a few times already and the bugs seem to be gone. I also think we need to order mattress covers... are there other ways to prevent this? Can I assume that the last guest brought the bed bugs?

Shhh @Sarah2552  someone might hear the dreaded word.

Airbnb will shut you down if they find out.

Don't relist you until certified bug free by a professional.

Definitely mattress covers and some have anti "that word" mattresses.

@Sarah2552  I think you are going to need to pitch your mattresses. The bugs will still be in them and you will just be masking the problem for a week or so and spread them to your guests. You must use protective covers at all times on the mattress, boxspring and pillows. Here are the ones I use and they are worth the money.

They come in all sizes. Make sure your exterminator specializes in bed bugs this is really important and it will not be cheap.
