Hi,
Today I received an enquiry from a potential guest, where they questioned my listing and included an alternative link that apparently listed my property, but under a different host name and at a lower price. This link went to a page requesting login via Google or Facebook, but was a strange URL (web link address) :
**[Link removed due to safety reasons - Community Center Guidelines]
URL General structure: https:// fabn-host-rnt . [random numbers] . icu
When I responded to the enquirer suggesting they use the official AirBnB site, and that any other link could be a phishing scam, they mysteriously deleted their account. I thought I'd post to the wider AirBnB Host community though, in case any of you get similar enquiries containing strange links.
It's not just text messages and emails where you can get your data hacked!
Regards,
Doug.
Nobody click on that link!
The inquiry itself is a distressingly widespread phishing scam.
Hey everyone,
For safety I've decided to remove the link, however, I do understand the value of awareness so I've kept the general structure of the link in your post. I hope that makes sense! 🙂
