Hi - Has anyone experienced getting a booking on blocked dates? I have blocked dates as we are away next week but had an automatic confirmation from a guest. I've had to cancel that and now it's published on my listing. I didn't do a screenshot when I blocked the dates, thinking it was all good. What recourse do I have? Help!
Yep....lots of messages here about calendar randomly opening and closing dates. Happens to us regularly. We always manually check dates requested now as we cant trust calendar to be correct. Contact AirBnB and explain.
Blocked dates sometimes mysteriously unblock themselves. What I've started doing is making the blocked days an enormously high daily rate so that even if they become unblocked due to the glitch, no-one will book them.
This is the third time that dates have become available without me unblocking them! I have already had to cancel one guest, and just now got an inquiry for another blocked time. According to the hosting rules I am not eligible for "super host" (whatever that is) for a year due to the cancellation. Seriously what can I do about this? I'm about to quit hosting!
Happened to me in January this year, but not since then. Although it is a good idea to put in a very high price for the days that you block so that nobody will book them if Airbnb unblocks them, that is hard to remember to do. My suggestion is to use an old fashioned wall calendar that you can double check before accepting an Airbnb booking. I use one anyway because half of my bookings are direct, not through any platforms. Of course, the first thing to do is not to have Instant Book activated.
