Booking Reservations 48-hours in advance

Hello,

When I created my profile, I set it so that guests would need to book at least 48-hours in advance of a given reservation. However, this morning I got a reservation request from someone to stay at my Airbnb tonight. I had to decline given I didn't have the 48-hours notice, and explained this when declining the request to the guest. The guest informed me they were not notified about this.

Has anyone else had this problem?  And how do I rectify this, so that guests cannot book any less than 48-hours in advance of a given reservation request?

@Tara322  You should go into your listing preferences to ensure that your 48-hour tick box is still checked. I was just able to select tonight from your calendar, which should not be possible with the preference selected. If it doesn't "take," I suggest you call customer service to see if they can perform a bit of magic. Until then, you could block dates manually each morning to ensure that you don't have too many declines on your new-ish listing.

Thanks, Susan. I will go back in and double-check. I haven't been able to locate a number for customer service yet (so many tabs!). Do you know where I can find that information?

@Tara322

Do you use instant booking? and is this little box checked? Make sure you UNCHECK that box. When they first came out with this feature it defaulted to 'checked'

Yes, I just went back into my settings and see that "instant booking" was checked, therefore allowing guests to book with less than 48-hours notice. I unchecked that box and should be set now!  Thanks!

@Tara322 My calender is set so my calender is "closed" as default. I then manually open up those dates I know I can host. I don't want guests to be able to send me requests 5-6 month out as I don't know my scheduel yet.

If you are a new host I think I would spend some time checkin out all the different settings on your airbnb dashboard so everything is set up so it suits you.
