Booking settings not respected by airbnb

Hi there.

So I have a problem with airbnb booking settings. I've been getting a lot of same day booking requests, which I have no way of accommodating as I need some time to prepare the place. 

At first I had the booking advance settings set to "at least 1 day in advance", and since this was happening over and over again, I changed them to "at least 2 days in advance" but this is still happening! 

I hate being put in this position, of having to decline people over and over again, and I can't seem to even find a way to contact airbnb to make them aware of the issue.

Can anyone shed some light on what's happening, and/or give me a link to the airbnb support page, as it just is not popping up for me.

It sounds like you have Instant Booking (IB) on.

It is actually a good way to get guests.

Maybe include in your listing to send an ENQUIRY prior to booking, also include a specific check in  timeframe that is mutually agreeable and a specific check out time in your listing to suit both you and your guest, 10 am is a good check out time, so you have time to turn around the room.

Is there a great need that you can't arrange to have the room ready each day, e.g busy working?

Maybe strip the bed and quickly vacuum after your guest has left so you have less stress.

Ok I have no idea why I'm logged into airbnb with mother's account on my phone...!

Logged in to the right account now. But yeah, no. I get booking enquiries, fortunately no instant bookings, but either way I'm getting same day requests despite my settings, that's my problem.

go to your calendar / availability settings/ reservation preferances /edit/preparation time/block 1 night before and after each reservation/save

and you are saved 🙂
