Hey guys, I’m new in this business,
i I would like to know.
What is the ratio between Airbnb and Booking.com or other channels .
Please if somebody can tell me more or less
Every host uses different channels to promote their listings and every host gets a different percentage of bookings through these channels @Tal32
There is no set ratio.
Hey @Helen3
yes I understand that, but for you, or outer people, do you think it’s 50% 50% or more like 80/20?
It's irrelevant what happens with my bookings @Tal32 . My property is completely different than yours and I live in a different country.
Giving you this information would in no way help you decide what marketing channels to focus on.
I don't use booking.com.
@Tal32 just like @Helen3 said. And also the perception of Booking. com and Airbnb are different. Different types of people book and it also depends on the location. There are states in which Airbnb is more popular, in others it is Booking. com. You don't loose anything by listing your property on both. You will have more bookings combined rather than only listing it on one website.
@Ana275 , thank you Ana,
i know that, but as a first timer, I would like to know the numbers, for me is investment.
And I like to ran the numbers. It just me😂
any information will help, I understand that every City is different.
@Tal32 well I say go with both, also Home Away, Instagram, Facebook, local tourist agencies, add websites, build your own web page.. every exposure could bring more potential guests.
If you want to carry out market research for you area, you would be much better buying a market research report for your area on something like Airdna.
As @Ana1136 says just list on whichever channels you feel are relevant for your market place, you can then evaluate against which channels drive most traffic.
We are trying to point out to you that you won't know which channels are going to be most effective for you until you try them. The only way you could ascertain this is to ask hosts locally with similar properties. Of course they are hardly likely to tell you as you are a competitor @Tal32
@Tal32there are many free ways to advertise these days, you can't loose anything. Just try everything and it won't be long before you see what works for you. Not a single property or a host is the same, we all have different ways and strengths when it comes to advertising. You will never know unless you try.
