Booking wrong dates and wanting to reschedule or half partial refund

Hello!

I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience or could help me. I had booked an apartment/hotel in Mykonos for the wrong dates by accident. I booked it for the 18th-21st of April instead of July. I had realised on the 18th of April in the morning and immediately called Airbnb and the host. Keep in mind I literally booked it on the 15th of April by accident. All I wanted to do was change the dates to July instead which originally they said they would do with an extra charge as that place is more expensive in July which was understandsable and I was fine with paying the extra for the dates to be moved. Now they are saying they cannot do that whatsoever, when they originally said they could. I am a uni student and it's a lot of money, it's really stressing me out because I completely booked it by mistake and it's really stressing me out financially because the place was quite a lot of money for 3 nights and now they are saying I  get no refund and I can't change the dates and pay the remaining. What should I do? Is there anything I can do?

Thank you!

@Samantha472 You realized your mistake on the check-in day you had (accidentally) booked and now you think you should get a refund? Do you realize that the host's calendar was blocked for those days and that your mistake prevented them from getting another booking? So you think the host should be out the $ instead of you?

An Airbnb isn't like a hotel, where if a guest cancels, someone else will probably appear at the front desk looking for a room within an hour or two.

Not only did you enter the wrong dates, you apparently didn't bother to check over the booking confirmation/itinerary you would have immediately received. If you had, you would have caught the error and been able to cancel with full refund within the 48 hours.

We all make mistakes, and this was an unfortunate and expensive error and I'm sorry it happened to you, but sometimes we just need to suck it up and take responsibility for our own mistakes.
