Cancellation 1 day after reservation

Hello,

yesterday I have confirmed the reservation for the first weekend in July. I have already informed the guests that I´m not sure if I´m able to provide check-in on Friday, but we agreed they will arrive already in the morning. Unfortunately when I have checked connection to my place from train station I have realized that trains from Main railway station don´t go to my place during the summer, it means they would loose time on way while changing train station and I would leave my place late to be in time at work. As it is my new job and I´m still in probation period I must put my job on first place. 

I would like to ask you, I´ve been renting on Airbnb almost 5 years, I´m a superhost in a row for the whole that time. Is there a possibility to cancel this reservation without loosing superhost status? I know it was my mistake to confirm the reservation, but our public transport net plays against me.

@Nela21 If you cancel, definitely you will lose Superhost status. And will not be eligible for one year.

 

You may discuss with your guest and your situation and see if it is possible for the guest to cancel it. There is little chance that Airbnb CS will help you. But still worth to try

I would contact my guest, let them know about the train situation and tell them they need to find another way of transportation ( bus or rent a car) to be able to check in on time.

 

If that is impossible then I would suggest them to cancel within 48 hours after booking so they can be refunded in full.

 

If it doesn't work you could find a friend to meet them and check them in. In this case, it would be smart to write all the important information and instructions on a paper and leave it on the table for your guests.

 

My last solution would be to contact Airbnb and ask them if they can cancel penalty free because my guests can't arrive at the time we both agreed to.
