Hi
We have booked an apartment, but once we booked, the host has highlighted a whole list of issues that she has with the neighbours of the apartment, including asking us to lie about why we are there, stating that we should say we are visiting her brother, asking us to be absolutely silent when we arrive etc.
This has caused a huge amount of unrest as we are going for a weekend away with our friends, who will be arriving at different times and dont feel comfortable having to lie to people. It also doesnt feel right with all the issues that she's raised.
How do we go about cancelling this, as none of this was made clear when booking?
Thanks
Beth
Hey Beth, I think if you are staying in a building with mutiple ownership it might be wise to cancel if the other tenants are all mad about this tenant renting on Airb&b, its best to protect yourself and not get in the middle of this mess
Totally Agree!! thank you
Two optoins contact the host and explain as you have just done that you are not happy to stay in a place where there are clearly issues with you doing so.

Contact AirBnB and ask them to cancel the booking and find you an alternative.
Whatever you do, don;'t cancel the booking yourself as you will be penalisled
Hi
thank you so much - really appreciate it!
Beth
@Beth32 Sounds like this host is renting on Airbnb knowing full well he/she doesn't have permission from the landlord / condo association or what ever to do so. I agree with @Gerry-And-Rashid0 you should contact Airbnb and ask to be refunded including their Service Fees since this host is apparently hosting illegally.
Here's how to get in touch with Airbnb:
Thank you! really appreciate all your help.
I've looked at the contact details, but cant seem to find an email address and the phone isnt working - do you know the email address?
thanks
Beth
@Rachel61 There is no single email address for Airbnb as their support centers are located all over the world. I highly recommend using Twitter @airbnbhelp as I get a response in about 10 minutes and don't have to be on hold on the phone forever. You can send them a Direct Message (DM) by using the Message box. DM's don't have a character limitation so you can explain the situation. Be careful not to post your email address in a public tweet for privacy reasons.
Did you click on my Contact link to see all the ways to reach Airbnb?
Also, I would not recommend cancelling yourself since you will not be refunded the Airbnb Service fees.
Need more help?
