Cancellation during long term stay

Cancellation during long term stay

Hello, so I'm really confused about this, I would like some help!

I made a reservation for a 38 nights stay, but unfortunately I have to cancel it (after 11 days have passed).

I read many forums, I read about the long term cancellation policy, but everything is very confusing for me so if someone could explain if I can get a refund I would be very grateful...

when I enter the change the date page on the app, it says I can get a 50% refund if I cancel it until the 25th of October, but if I enter the cancellation page, it says I will not get any refund so I'm very confused..

I'm waiting for your answer, thank you!

This is the long term policy.  It is not entirely clear but it appears that you are not due any refund.

You may explain your reason for canceling and ask if the host would agree to refund you for all nights they are able to rebook.

It is becoming very common for guests to book for more than 30 days to get a big discount when they really only intend to stay for two weeks or less. That is why many hosts are refusing refunds.

Regardless of what cancellation policy the host has chosen, the long-term cancellation policy is applied AUTOMATICALLY  for stays longer than 28 nights. So based on the policy, you are not due a refund. If you plan to approach the host about a refund beyond what the policy allows as @Brian2036  suggests, please keep in mind that if there was a monthly discount applied, you would need to compare with what an 11-night stay would have cost (without the monthly discount) - NOT 29% of what you paid for a 38-night stay.

Long term

This policy applies to all stays of 28 days or longer and overrides your standard cancellation policy for those stays.

  • To receive a full refund, guests must cancel within 48 hours of booking, and the cancellation must occur at least 28 days before check-in
  • If a guest cancels after that, you’ll be paid 100% for all nights spent, plus 30 additional nights
  • If fewer than 30 days remain on the reservation when the guest cancels, you’ll be paid 100% for all of those remaining nights
