Cant respond to un verified guest inquiry

I am new to air bnb and cant find this question anywhere in the community.

 

An unverified guest sent me a request last night to book for a discount and it is listed as pending. It's not a huge discount and it's for 5 days so I am willing to accept. She is unverified at the moment and I only accept verified guests. When I try to respond to her request, I get a message saying she is unavailable until she completes the account verification process. I can't even click on her message on the website to see the entire text.  Am I right in assuming that I have no way to contact her until she is verified? Will she be getting notices from air bnb to complete the verification process? 

 

It doesn't seem right that an unverified guest can block out 5 days on my calendar.

Personally I wouldn't give guests a discount for five days. Guests who start there communications by asking for a discount are ones that more often than not, turn out to be problem guests.

 

I am not sure why her booking is blocking your dates. She shouldn't be able to book unless verified.

 

I suggest you give Airbnb a call and check it out with them.
