Changing settings to bump listing - not working?

I have seen comments in several threads about bumping listings up in view order by changing a setting eg:  blocking and unblocking a night or fiddling with nightly price etc.
Just curious to know if anyone else has noticed that this tactic doesn't seem to be working at the moment?  The space that I still have listed has been quiet with views /bookings over the last few weeks so I made some 'changes'.  However, the last modifed date didn't change and was still showing 27 April 2019 which was the date of my last guest review.  I have now received and added a new review today and the date modified has updated - is this happening to anyone else?

Will be interesting to see if my views/bookings go up now.....And no, I don't want to move to IB.  As a single mum, Airbnb do not have enough policies in place to make me feel safe in my home after an incident with a 'guest' in my other, now-snoozed space in March.

Uh. Think I have answered my own question.  Just had a booking request for 2 weeks in August - my first in over a month.  It could be coincidental but seems strange that they happened on the same day.

So, my new question is, how do you check to see where your listing appears in guest searches?  I was presuming that the position I saw it appear when I switched to travelling was where it appeared for guests but am beginning to suspect that may be wrong and what I see is not what others see.  Any thoughts?

@Geri26

you can also change a few words in your description or add new photos but since Airbnb introduced hotels and commercial agencies we all have a drop in bookings.

To check where your listing appears in the search you should log in on another browser which you didn't use since the last time you cleaned your cookies/cash/history.

If your area is not oversaturated with accommodation then your listing will appear in searches regardless you have IB or not. Unfortunately, Zagreb is full of STR and without IB we don't have a chance.

thanks for your reply 🙂  I hadnt thought to log into a different browser nor realised hotels listings were new.  I still think that fiddling with settings is not making a difference to listing order but it is what it is so will continue to consider new bookings if and when they come.
