Charge per person or couple?

Hi all... i have two bedrooms that I offer guests as a choice. Queen room or Twin room. Private bath. Max is  2 guests in a room. It’s always couples anyway. Mostly. My friend gets extra if there is a second person. I’m guessing her setting is 1. Should I be charging for a second person? I know in hotels it’s usually more than two persons is an extra charge.  And it’s per night not per person right? The rooms wouldn’t fit more than two anyway but I’m confused why she gets paid extra if it’s two instead of 1 OR If a guest books as 1 and then brings someone else with them! Thank u for any insight.

Don't think you should be charging for an extra person if the room is capable of sleeping two. I'd just want honesty from the booker that there is one or two on the initial booking.
