I just booked my stay this morning and the first time I received a response stating failed verification, but I had a pending charge on my credit card. The booking was not confirmed so I tried it again, and the second time it went throught, but now I have 2 pending charges on my credit card. I just want to make sure I am not being charged twice for my stay. Can you help me with this?
Check your bank account after 2-3 days, @Sophia118. If the first transaction (locked one) doesn't disappear, contact Airbnb Customer Service. You will find a post how to do it pinned in the Help section.
@Sophia118 When you submit a Request to Book, Airbnb places a temporary authorization hold on your payment method. When the host accepts and confirms your reservation, the authorization hold drops off and the actual charge is made. If you look at your payment method right after a host accepts your reservation, you will see both transactions which looks like a double charge. The authorization. hold will go away.

I now have 2 authorized charges on my credit card, this does not seem right. I assumed that one charge would fall off and it did not. I received a message from airbnb saying I will be refunded on 12/22 and I do not see that on my credit card statement.
There is no contact number, this is becoming way more tedious than I expected.
Refunds take time. Being refunded on the 22nd does not mean that it will show immediately on your card. Tha actual transfer takes time and with Christmas and fewer bank days, it can take even longer than usual.
Did you get refunded? I have similar problem :(((
Were you able to get refund? Same situation now.
