Hi, hope someone knows.
One of my clients cancelled his booking. I have changed the cancellation policy a couple of times over the past weeks and I am not sure what the cancellation policy was for that client. Under My Reservation I can see the client cancelled and that there is an amount. Does this mean the cancellation policy was strict ie. I will receive that money later on? or would all cancelled clients be listed under my reservations? also the ones with fexible cancellation policies or they would not be listed unless they have to pay?
hope my question is clear...
The cancellation policy that you had chosen was in effect at the moment of booking and is not affected by any changes later on.
The policy in effect is visible on the reservation. The payout is done 24h after the booking would have gone into effect.
That's what the site is for and what your hosting fee to Airbnb is for -
handling the monies so that you don't.
Besides, being on Airbnb means that you are not supposed to have a direct financial transaction with the guest.
A client asked me to cancel, does that change anything in regards to my strict cancellation policy?
Anthony, don't cancel for the guest, let them cancel it. You will be penalized if you initiate the cancellation. You can walk the guest through it, but do not cancel the guest yourself. Good luck!
