Confirmation

Why or why was a reservation confirmed with out asking me to accept or decline.  Sorry I am a new hosts.

Because you have Instant Book turned on @Irma78 , which is the default setting for your listing

 

I would advise you to go in and turn it off until you become familiar with how Airbnb works and can vet your guests before accepting a booking.


Do have a look at Airbnb Help Centre - a great resource for learning the basics around how Airbnb works.

@Irma78  I totally agree with @Helen3 .  You have a lovely home but if you are new to this business and you are not in the same area as your listing, you should be more informed about how this platform works.  Also, you might conside having an experienced local co-host if you can find one.  To change the Instant Book setting, go to your listing, select booking requirements, edit how guests can book to be all guests must send a reservation request.   Good luck!!

Im also new to this, but my instant booking was actually turned off and I still had it confirmed without my knowledge. Can anyone shed some light on this please? Matt

If you have confirmed that your booking setting requires that the guest contact you prior to booking confirmation and you have a confirmed reservation, contact Air BNB to report the system error.  You can still accept the reservation if you wish.  Here is a guide to contacting Air BNB if you should need it.
