I have to say I have never in my life been so offended.  I have yet to even rent through Airbnb and I recently went on to search for something and my account was locked.  I tried to get it to unlock and they asked for my ID photo.  I sent it and then I got this horrible letter and now they wont respond back.  How is it possible that they can block me when I have never even rented?  I am not a criminal, nor have I ever been arrested or have even a parking ticket.  I have a high powered career, am educated and have a family.  This is not only insulting but  leads me to believe they are discrimiating somehow.  I am trying to speak to someone and dont want to take this to an attorney but with them not responding and blocking me I feel that I need to.  Whow writes something like this to anyone let alone someone who has never even used their service.  Just trying to get someone on the customer service side to call me and explain this action.  Going to post everywhere until someone calls me back.  Completely unacceptable.

what do you think that they are discriminating you about? It is strange, maybe miscommunications?

Not a mistake.  AirBnB has decided what listings in Israel can be listed, based on whether the Palestinian Authority and Hamas approves or not.  Their arrogance apparently knows no bounds.  As you can see in their responses here on their website, their answer to every question is stonewalling.  Time to go elsewhere.

Call them and clear the things.

They don't answer her phone calls.  Classic stonewalling by the guilty.

Airbnb has a history of high-handed and discriminatory practices like this. For instance they have decided what the solution to the Middle East problem is and have decided to impose it on their customers. They don't have to answer our questions.  Neither do we have to patronize them.  Better and less arrogant alternatives are

 

Homeaway,

VRBO,

Vacation Rentals,

Flipkey,

Booking,

OneFineStay,

9Flats,

Wimdu

 

Copy that list quick because the arrogant bigots at AirBnB will take this message down rather than tolerate criticism.

I have decided not to patronize AirBnB because of its discriminatory practices.  Upon my recommendation that has been adopted as the policy of our Walnut Creek congregation.  We are recommending the boycott to other California congregations and several back east as well.  If AirBnB would like to discuss this with us, they should understand that

Even without their discrimination, why would anyone want to do business with people with that attitude toward their customers?  I have dealt with VRBO and Homeaway before and they were unfailingly polite and supportive.  Take your business elsewhere.
