New to hosting and I am perplexed by certain guest behaviour.
Ive had maybe six very gushy enquires along the lines of: Your cottage looks amazing, would love to come and stay bla bla bla. Please, please, please can we come and stay for these dates...
I respond quickly with positive response then never hear another thing!
Are guests really this flakey?
@Dan731 Do you authorise their enquiry too so that they can book? It normally comes up as 'Pre-Approve booking' or something like that.
Actually - even if you did do that, they don't read anyway so likely wouldn't make any difference!
@Dan731 I found that there were a lot of tyre kickers out there when I first started hosting. People emailing asking lots of questions, or sending bulk enquires to multiple listings. It died down after the first few months, and dropped off when I switched to Instant Book after about a year of hosting. Having said that, I still get the odd time waster messaging me. It's frustrating, but I just grin and bear it. And I'm less likely to pre-approve someone these days who clearly hasn't read my listing details.
