Fake booking in my name

I just received 2 emails:

  1. A first notifying that a new payment method had been added to my profile
  2. A second saying that I had just made a booking and paid for it with the new credit card.

 

- I did not make the booking

- I logged in to my accound and changed my password

- I looked in the login history, and no one has logged into my account since more than a month ago, which I recognize.

 

How is this possible, and what can have happened?

So, was there a new creditcard added to your payment methods ?

If so, how can it be used as the card is not in your name ?

 

If not, it's only fake emails you received, which i think is the case here ?

Yes, they added a new credit card, and that is the card they paid with. I have been in contact with the host, and they have cancelled the booking, but he actually thought it was a legit booking.

There was also a message having been sent from my account, but I don't understand how that is possible without showing up in the login history...
