I have pre-approved my first booking. Once the guest accepts, will my calendar change to block out the dates or do I need to do that? and how do I add the cost of meal to my daily rate?

Once the guest books your calendar will be automatically blocked. You don't have to do a thing. I think the cost of your meal should be included in your  original price.

I have just looked at your listing and I note you have mentioned 'Add $25.00 per person per day if meals are taken'. Therefor if the guest does take this option up, you can charge them via the resolution centre for extra charges. They will receive an e-mail requesting them to Accept or decline the charges and if they accept, then Airbnb will chard their card accordingly.

Whilst looking at your listing, I noticed you state that you require one night stay as security deposit. You cannot do this as it is in breach of Airbnb's policy. Airbnb specifically provide an option to add a security deposit to the listing. The deposit is never deducted upfront , however if there are any issues down the line then you can claim against the deposit within 48 hours of the guest checking-out but it has to be a fixed amount that is transparent.
