Getting my security deposit back

Getting my security deposit back

A guest just asked when I was going to return his security deposit back. Of course I don't have it and as far as I can tell I don't need to do anything to approve him getting his security deposit back. How long does it usually take for AirB&B to return it?

Hi - guests don't pay a security deposit up front - it's just an agreement to pay up to a certain amount in the event of damage, etc.

So, there is no money to return to the guest.

Hi community members - I booked Air Bnb accommodation and was forced to pay a $300 security deposit. Nothing was damaged whilst I was at the homestay and I got a good review by the host. The host told me that return of the $300 deposit was nothing to do with him, it was Air Bnb who should  return the deposit. My homestay ended 11 days ago and I have had no return of the deposit. Air Bnb are impossible to contact to ask them about this and I have to resort to this community forum to find out more.  Any ideas of how I can get the deposit back?   Thanks - Jonnie.
