Were having our first Airbnb guest this month when do you give out the lock box code
What a beautiful and well-appointed place you have, @Linda_Angelo0! Welcome to hosting on Air BNB. Most hosts who use self-check-in send the information shortly before arrival date, usually around 7 days before. That way the cancellation is unlikely and the guest won't lose the information. One suggestion I have seen in discussion threads about self check-in, is to have a plan B, especially if it is an electronic key pad. More guests get befuddled by that, especially if they have never used an electronic key pad. So having a key available will keep you from having to go to the place to help them out. Another issue that has come up with self check in is that the guest arrives at a very late hour and has a problem but you can't be reached because you are asleep. Best to get an estimated time of arrival just so you can be alert for any issue.
Thanks we have plan b and c but never thought about check-in late at night.
Depending on where the guest is coming from and how they're getting here, I send the day before or day of.
Thanks
@Linda_Angelo0 I always send it together with the check-in instructions a day before their arrival day.
beware! I changed my lock box code weeks ago from by cell phone using the AIRBNB icon and when guests hit thhe "key" icon, they still get the old code. I was then told I have to use a computer/ desk top to change it. Now home and trying to find it to change with the new "more convinient" system
Will-
Feel your pain. A couple of updates I made in the app recently didn't publish either. Newsflash for Airbnb, we use the APP not a desktop, to manage our listings.
yes , best to send directly, not use their key icon
how do I give my guests the lock box code?
I just email the code with wifi codes
