Granting late departures

What do you do if you grant a late departure and then cant get ahold of the guest to come get their bags?  We had a guest request late check out.  We told her she and her friends could leave their bags until 5 pm since our next guests werent arriving until between 6 and 7.  The next guests arrived at 5:45 and the bags of the previous guests were still there.  And now we cant get in touch with them via their German telephone number.  Suggestions??  I'm thinking that in the long run, no more college kids and no more late check outs.

Yes, definately if you are going to allow a late check out in the future, charge an hourly fee.  Several times people want a late check out and then they come back and want to use the washroom or clean up.  I would contact Airbnb and see if they can reach out to the guests to have them collect their bags.
