Guest Information?

Wondering if anybody had any suggestions? I have a booked guest who completely changed her lives in information after I asked her to include a government issued ID before her stay? It seems weird to me. She is new to Airbnb has no reviews or stays. It just feels weird. What would you do?

@Mark1357

Ask her for explanation. Or contact Airbnb and explain, they can cancel penalty free if it is a suspicious booking.

@Mark1357 a guest may list whatever they would like for their name, photo or location. Even if they have somehow "verified" their ID with ABB, the info listed on their profile can be whatever they want.

I think @alice and Jeff wrote the most clear explanation of this that I have seen in an old thread.

the only true way to know who your guest actually is is to personally see their ID.

The reservation in question said she was going to add an ID before her stay and of course has not yet. Her stay is I'm a couple of days.

@Mark1357 if this were me, I’d message her giving her a deadline, such as “I’m sorry but per my insurance policy I cannot honor your reservation if you do not have a  government ID uploaded by tomorrow at 12” and definitely cancel her if it seems sketchy. Airbnb I believe gives hosts the ability to cancel penalty free in this case.

Seems like you have a bad feeling in your gut. I’d go with that.
