After receiving a confirmation of booking our guest cancelled. The booking still shows up on our calendar although we had asked him to cancel with airbnb as well. We do not want to cancel ourselves or be penalised by removing this booking.
How do we overcome this dilemma?
If your guest does not cancel through airbnb you will get paid for the stay anyway, so why the worry ?
Same problem here. I cancelled it (but dind't get charged) but it's still showing on my calendar as an unavailable period. Do you have any idea how to free up those dates?
Thanks
@Simon, from what I've gathered from other threads here, dates are only freed up if the guest cancels.
Depending on the situation, a host can even be penalised for cancelling (one of the penalties is that dates are not free for other guests). The advice to hosts is to NEVER do the cancelling. That's the guest's responsibility.
my guest confirmed his booking then cancelled, so annoying as I had declinced another booking for the holiday weekend
