Guest last minute cancellation, Airbnb still charged the money from my side, why?
Hello, I have an issue because I had a request sent by a guest to rent a room. I couldn't accept it and I asked the guest to cancel the request. He did so. Everything looked fine till I see the paycheck a few days later and the total charge from my payout for this cancellation. How come I was charged for the stay of a guest who canceled the booking? Who shall I call? I am living in Canada.
Hello, the guest canceled the confirmed reservation. called Airbnb and they said the amount won't be deduced from my payout but when I calculate total payout it is already deduced. This is why I don't understand how this cancelation policy is not affecting the host?
@Flora78 You canceled the reservation that is why you won't get any money and you wont be able to become superhost for a year, and there is an automated Airbnb post saying that you canceled. The guest shouldn't be charged for a reservation that they didn't complete by your request. If that was the case, we would cancel on all of our guests and just take the money.
Unfortunately, you asked the guest to cancel and they sent you a request to cancel, which you accepted. Airbnb will deduct a “fine” for canceling and you will get an automated posting canceled message on your profile. It will be hard to convince Airbnb otherwise since you are the one who asked the guest to cancel.
