Hi all! Had our first big break in our house 😞
Our cleaner discovered that our frame completely snapped. The guests didn’t reach out about it which I’m not surprised about. How do you go about this? I don’t want to receive a bad review because they are being asked to pay for something they broke.
@Nicole2592 Sturdy, solid, well-made bedframes don't just break, even if the guest was overweight or carousing on the bed. If I were you, I would chalk the repair up to normal maintenance and simply mention that you found a broken bed frame in the review.
We had a canopy bed and are now realizing that very decorative beds, even with fantastic reviews, isn’t best for an airbnb. There were lots of kids in the house so I suspect they were climbing or jumping on the bed frame.
@Nicole2592 try Facebook marketplace for a new bed frame and chalk it up to experience. I might also be tempted to message the guest telling them not to worry about the bed as it is appears to be too fragile for a rental place.
@Nicole2592 Yes, those rails are way too thin to hold up to a constant stream of guests. Live and learn.
@Nicole2592 If the bed broke during the guests' stay, you're quite lucky that they didn't report it as a safety hazard and get their stay refunded. It's best for you not to mention it and get a sturdier frame pronto.
