Host Frustration during reservation

Hello, one of my frustrations as a host is when guests are making a reservation just to be able to text you and ask for discount, so the reservation is not serious and the host is getting a bunch of reminders to approve or decline the reservation throughout the conversation period

@Ivon2 it is not a reservation but either the INQUIRY or REQUEST.

There is a big difference between the two of them. If it is just an Inquiry you can just answer by text or preaproove or decline and it will not affect your listing in any way. So, to stop getting those prompts just click preaprove or decline. You can even refuse to give them special offer discount and click pre-aprove. Your guest will or will not book afterwards, it is up to them. 

If it is an request then it means your guest already payed and if you accept then booking will be made instantly. You HAVE to click accept or decline button. If you decline to much request it will affect your ranking and you can even be penalized with unlisting. 

 

@Branka-and-Silvia0 thank you for clarifying, I meant Inquiry.  How does it work once I preapprove? And does declining an inquiry (even if it was not serious) leave me with a bad impression for AIRBNB? if I decline can we continue the messaging?
