I cancelled a reservation, which I've never done before, as I was literally about to stop doing airbnb for a bit for personal reasons. I subsequently changed my mind. Is there any way to uncancel? It looks like not..
Correct, they would have moved on anyway.
Presumably you know the penalties.
I do. Thankyou. Also, is it then impossible to stop airbnb blocking that period of time
in which the cancelled guests would have stayed?
People have reported being able to persuade ABB to relist those dates with a good enough reason.
Ha! If you are aware of the penalties, you would know that blocking your calendar is one of them.

Depends how much time has gone by and the guest personality. We requested to cancel a guest once because of their communications after booking and Airbnb did so without penalty. It was days before Easter so there was likely not enough time for either party to rebook. Ultimately, we decided to host them because it was for a family and we did not want to ruin their vacation. Airbnb contacted the guest and reinstated the booking. We got a terrible review score and their attitude was horrendous. We would not do this again but I guess it depends on individual circumstances.
