Host is asking me for more money

We have arrived on turkish part of cyprus, pre-booked an appartment with non english speaking lady. At the meeting she told us we will have some extra costs to pay - electricity, water (all per usage) and cleaning fee of 25€ and said this was all mentioned on site. I went and checked and it really does say that in cyrillic in russian under description (i dont know how to read that, i translates it with camera scanner translator) but nothing under english description. Im pretty sure she’d also like this to be paid in cash, which of course will not happen. My question is, do we need to pay this (if she requests it via airbnb resolution center)? This is straight sort of scam, since they also wanted to pick us on the airport before we arrived for 50€, without us even needing that service. I’m very frustrated and feel tricked.

@Matjaž2

You can involve Airbnb if you do not agree with what is asked via the resolution centre.

Even if it is written in another language, asking payment for electricity and water per usage is not allowed.

The english translation is done by google (if the listing does not have a english version), but it is not reliable.

Best regards,

@Matjaž2   I have learned with Airbnb, if there is an issue, contact customer service THAT DAY to advise them of your concerns so they are on record. I would call them and let them know the host is requesting payment for cost of electricity usage, etc, and that it is not in the listing. They will advise you how to proceed from there.

If it is not in the listing advising of these charges, then no you do not have to pay them. Never give a host cash, and everything should go through the Airbnb App (this includes any messages back and forth with the host) - never go through text messaging.
