Hosting pets

I’m considering accepting pets in my accommodation. The only issue is, the room guests stay in is on the first floor of my home. Personally I’d prefer not to have any pets upstairs.
is it acceptable to ask guests to keep their pets downstairs in a crate with all the amenities they require, like bowls, toys, cat litter tray, soft blankets and bed?

@Niamh54   I wouldn't consider the home to be pet-friendly if I were required to leave my dog alone in a crate all night, where she would feel like she was being punished. It would cancel out the benefits of traveling with a canine companion instead of putting them in a kennel.

No doubt there are some pet owners who would be fine with this arrangement, but given your preferences, it doesn't sound like guests with pets are a good market for you to target. Your reviews are fantastic, largely because you've provided the optimal version of everything you offer. Why put something on the menu, if you can only deliver a suboptimal version of it?

@Niamh54no, don't do that. I don't have a crate and I don't want to use it.  It's totaly uncommon here, I don't know anyone who uses a crate for a dog.

My dog doesn't sleep in my bedroom and rarely ever enters my bedroom but still,  I wouldn't book a place where my dog has to be separated from me.
