How detailed should you get in a bad review

I recently had three men rent my camper for a week. They were polite but I had a bad feeling.

They checked in past midnight. They also checked in with one extra person then what was stated on the booking.

After checkout, the place smelled of smoke and air freshener. Upon cleaning, I found a burn in my blanket(literally just bought the blanket), a blunt roach (yes they were smoking weed) and an empty cartridge of THC oil. Do note it is legal to use medical cannabis in FL.

I also noticed the table in my camper rental was made up into a bed even though it states in the listing the table as a bed is only suited for children as it can't handle heavy weight.

Two of my towels were missing but seemed to be replaced with two different color towels.

Lastly, the place was left a little worse for wear. With three guys staying, I most certainly didn't expect things to be super clean but my camper was left pretty junky.

I want my review to be professional but get the point across that these were not desirable guests. I can't say I would recommend them either.

How would you review them?

Truthfully and with a do not recommend. I don't think there needs to be too much detail apart from highlighting (& hence flagging to other hosts) that they broke House Rules (if you specify no smoking etc) as well as bringing another guest.

@Brittani7

well, they didn't communicate well, they broke house rules, and it wasn't clean. You don't want them back, would any of us really want them? I usually choose pretty stern star ratings and then write something generic for the text: "not a guest I'd recommend to other hosts or allow back to my space"

btw, a CS recently told me** that for the 'recommended by other hosts' mark, abb considers everything other than a 1* review to be a "good" review for guests.

**who knows if this is true, just saying that's what I was told...

@Kelly149

 everything above 1* is a good guest

everything above 4,8* is a good host

I feel discriminated !

This is correct. A couple of months ago I got an instant booking from someone who was planning to stay one night in my flat to visit his girlfriend who lives here (long distance relationship) but in a room suitable for one Person only.

I suspected he was going to bring her with him- so uncool.

He had an average 2.5* rating. When I contacted Airbnb the rep said this was a good rating *SMH*. When highlighted back to them, I would be kicked out of Airbnb as a host with this rating and I did not feel comfortable, only then did they cancel penalty free this Booking- this took an hour. Honestly- double standards should just stop and please Airbnb consider introducing the “superguest” category!!

@Yadira22 Thank goodness you paid attention to this! Honestly knowing how reluctant hosts are to write bad reviews, how terrible must this guest be to have a 2.5 rating!!!

yes @Branka-and-Silvia0 discrimination , double standard. Abb review system is a mess!
