How do I change my default language please ?

in your account (global preferences) you can set the default language.

Listings are displayed in the language belonging to the local Airbnb website you use (airbnb.com: english , airbnb.de : German,  airbnb.fr: French etc...)

At bottom of page you can change preferred language (and currency) if desired
