How do I know accommodation is legitimate?

Never used Airbnb.  I had a place "favorited" from a year ago.  I went to look at it last nigh online.   I kept receiving an error " your request could not be completed, try again later". This seem to be every accommodation.  I then got an error that this particular place wasn't on Airbnb anymore.  Or something similar.

i was able to email the owners and they replied it's available for my dates.

So now I'm not sure to book it.  Hate to get to Mexico City and be ripped off.

how do I confirm this is on Airbnb legitimately?  They have 53 reviews.
